Huis Empire was built between 1822 and 1826 to the commission of Joseph and Jeanne van Zuylen Nyevelt Arents de Beertegem.
Many prominent families have lived in the house since that time, among them those of De Man, Gilliods, Macquart de Terline, Van Damme and Vander haert.
Huis Empire and its boxwood garden were restored to their original magnificence. The current owner gave up his legal practice to run the house, and is now available to facilitate any kind of event.
The mansion is frequently used for both still photography and film-making. It attracts a connoisseur audience during busy Heritage Days, and the exquisite pavilion is also famous as the setting for the Canal Festival (Reiefeesten).
Why not add your event to the roll-call of successful events and celebrations at Huis Empire?
